Can I alter the size of the box?
No. Extending or truncating the overall size of the box, or its fittings, will invalidate the terms and conditions set out within your purchase order.
I have a radiator in the position where I’d like to fix the box, can it be moved?
Undoubtedly, yes. You can remove and relocate a radiator in a property, but please consult a plumber for further advise. Alternatively, you may consider replacing a larger radiator with a smaller rad-unit from which to accommodate the escapologist.
Can the escapologist be offset from the window ledge?
Whilst the expandable ladder inside the box is fitted to a sling, the box should only be slightly offset from the window space area (if preferred). At all times purchasers are advised to consider the position of the box. It is essential that the escapologist is installed to assist you in the means of escape.
What is the maximum weight that the escapologist can hold at any one time?
The escapologist and its components have been independently tested to hold 114.3 kilograms in weight (approximately 18-stone) at any one time.

Yes. The escapologist comes available with the 33-ft. ladder version for installing on a second floor and / or loft conversion of a property.

Will I need to replace the box in the event of a fire?
Whilst the escapologist may, on appearance, look to be ok, fire poses huge risk to human life and its trial (damage) may not always be quantifiable. With this in mind, we would always advise replacing old for new and disposing of the previous box through the appropriate means.
Can I purchase the accessories without the box?
Yes, accessories are available to purchase individually, or with the box, both online and through the sales order line. What we would say, however, is that a lot of research has gone into the manufacturing of the escapologist and, therefore, any accessory should ideally be used to accompany it.
How often does the escapologist need maintaining?
We advise buyers’ to check the installation of their escapologist periodically, but in truth the only thing that’s likely to need maintaining over the years is the paintwork on the outside of the box.
